Unforgiven is a professional wrestling event produced annually by WWE, a Connecticut–based professional wrestling promotion, and broadcast live and available only through pay-per-view (PPV) and the WWE Network. The event was established in 2020 for the SmackDown brand, co-replacing WWE Night of Champions in the early September slot of WWE's pay-per-view calendar.
Since the reintroduction of the brand extension in the year of 2020, the pay-per-view was introduced as an exclusive pay-per-view to the SmackDown brand.
